Food processing is growing stronger and stronger. Nowadays, all kinds of food ingredients are inseparable from seasonings, especially the growing demand of consumers for garlic products. Whether it is seasoning or ready-to-eat products, garlic processing equipment is needed. LOOPT, a medium-sized condiment processing plant in Algeria, processes approximately 2,000 tons of garlic annually. Originally relying on manual clove separation and peeling, this process was extremely inefficient, with a maximum daily output of 60 kg. Labor costs were also extremely high, and it was difficult to meet required hygiene standards, impacting supply efficiency. With increasing consumer demand for garlic and a surge in orders, LOOPT was eager to introduce automated equipment to address their existing shortcomings. On May 3, 2016, they found the OrangeMech website, added our WhatsApp number, and contacted us directly to request a customized solution.

After discussing with OrangeMech's top sales representative and LOOPT, we clarified the following requirements for a garlic peeling tool:

● Production efficiency: Quickly and accurately separate and cleanly peel garlic, with a daily output of 5-8 tons or more, and a working time of 8 hours.

● Product quality: High completeness, consistent quality across batches, and a breakage rate below 2%.

● Hygiene standards: Equipment materials must be food-grade to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.

● Cost optimization: Labor costs must be reduced, from the current 15 staff members to 3-5.

● Low energy consumption: The performance must be low, resulting in an energy-efficient garlic peeling line.

● Cost-effectiveness: The equipment must be reasonably priced, with performance that matches the price.

The OrangeMech project team customized an automated garlic peeling line specifically for LOOPT. Because the garlic processed by LOOPT is white and red, and carries a lot of dirt, they wanted to package the finished product directly into bags. However, they wanted to automatically adjust the bag weight, initially designing a 500g bag system. LOOPT's entire production line consists of an elevator, a clove separator, an elevator, a peeler, a color separator, a bubble cleaner, an air dryer, and a large vertical automatic elevator packaging machine. The line can process 600 kilograms of garlic per hour, achieving a 12-fold increase in efficiency compared to manual peeling, while significantly reducing labor costs.

During the proposal confirmation phase, OrangeMech provided a prototype for demonstration and conducted multiple video inspections and sample verifications of the entire production line process for LOOPT. OrangeMech also purchased garlic samples of varying specifications and moisture levels, meeting the customer's requirements. On May 15, 2026, a prototype test was arranged, with the entire process filmed to ensure stable performance. They were very satisfied with the results, but requested additional warranty and commonly worn parts, free on-site installation and commissioning training, and remote technical support. To address LOOPT's concerns and ensure a successful partnership, OrangeMech pledged to provide a one-year after-sales service guarantee.

Since OrangeMech had stock but required custom sizes, the delivery time was adjusted to 60 days. After receiving a 30% down payment from the customer on the 20th, OrangeMech began production of the garlic peeling tool.

Because the OrangeMech garlic peeling tool is modular, the connections between each device can be installed in a single day. OrangeMech technicians performed the installation remotely and in real time, and LOOPT personnel quickly assembled the tool, stating that this was their first experience with such simple and quick installation.

The initial trial run exceeded the customer's expectations, easily achieving their daily production target of 3 tons in 6 hours, with a 95% complete product rate and a peeling rate exceeding 98%. After a week, the equipment's high quality and uninterrupted production perfectly helped them address orders previously delayed due to manual labor and also helped them take on larger customers. Optimizing labor costs also resulted in significant savings, with only 4-5 people now responsible for feeding and collecting finished products, a reduction of over 80%.
